Dubrovnik welcomed the New Year with the performance of leading croatian stars - Tony Cetinski and Nina Badrić, and impressive fireworks at midnight. The first waltz and congratulations of Mayor Mato Franković followed.
Nina Badrić said goodbye to the old year with her amazing performance, and for the unforgettable start of the new year Tony Cetinski joined the scene! The traditional countdown and stunning fireworks that blazed the bell tower and the most beautiful street full of visitors. Traditionally, the first waltz was accompanied by the song "La musica di notte", and two young members of Linđo folklore ensemble danced on stage.Stars of the new Croatian music scene Marko Kutlić, David Temelkov and Jure Brkljača warmed up the atmosphere before Nina Badrić and Tony Cetinski came on stage.
This New Year's Eve celebration organized in collaboration with Star Productions, was the 25th New Year's Eve celebration on Stradun, and was one of the highlights of the 5th Dubrovnik Winter Festival Festival, organized by the City of Dubrovnik, Dubrovnik Tourist Board and the Dubrovnik Summer Festival.
On the first day of the new year, after a memorable New Year's Eve, the Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra under the baton of american conductor Marc Tardue and alongside soprano Marija Kuhar Šoša heldthe traditional New Year's concert titled "Orland's Ball" at noon on Stradun announcing Orland's year which will be marked during 2019. Visitors enjoyed the music with oysters and champagne organized by the Dubrovnik Tourist Board. That evening, on January 1st, on Stradun, at 9 pm, one of the most popular Croatian vocal groups – Klapa Rišpet performed for the people of Dubrovnik and their guest.
